Northern Lights; Southern Cross

NLSC is a Canadian immigrant's journal. (I'm Elaine Mary; my life mate of 18 years is Robin.) We've been living in Alberta for ten years now, and this rugged landscape has become our home. These oft' quotidian blog entries describe our journey through the days ... our random thoughts, our lofty dreams, our faltering steps, our bright hopes. Please join us for a brief sojourn or an entire season. Kingdom blessings on your household.

Welcome to NLSC!

Only once have I seen the poetic dance of the Aurora Borealis/ Northern Lights across the unlimited prairie skies; their colourful majesty left an indelible imprint on my heart.
The Southern Cross is my favourite constellation. I called this blog by both names in order to encompass life in Africa and Canada; one land gave me life and the other has become my home. I am grateful for the privilege of being shaped by their diversity.

Up Close and Personal

Since I was 7, I knew I'd be a writer when I grew up. Early in Dec 2008, once I ventured out on my own (after hap'ly co-authoring and publishing a book of letters in 2007), I set up diverse blogs as a discipline to record my thoughts and type up all the random bits 'n' pieces composed in coffee shops and on silent retreat days. (It also gives my international friends and relations something to do during long summer nights.) Pop in and visit. Leave a comment. Write a letter!
